A slow Easter Sunday at home. I feel like we never really plan much for Easter and then I always end up really enjoy the opportunity for a day of family time and good food. We went out to forage a few spring sprigs together this morning, have eaten a lot of chocolate, slow cooked lamb shawarma for lunch served with lots of salads and sides, build Lego and watched The Sound of Music. Also had to break up a fair few sibling squabbles because three year olds and Lego still don’t mix too well. But mostly a lovely day. Hope you’ve been having a fun holiday weekend too 🐣

I find tarot to be such a great tool for self-refl

I find tarot to be such a great tool for self-reflection and especially love to use it to elevate a full or new moon ritual. Here’s what mine looks like…

✨I set the scene with incense and a calming playlist.
✨I pull cards following a full moon spread inspired by @biddytarot. (Each position in a tarot spread represents a particular area or question)
✨I reflect on the cards as a whole and then work through each position in the spread. I use @litwitchure’s Wild Card book to interpret the cards.
✨I jot down the cards I’ve pulled and journal on what the spread brings up for me.
✨I close the ritual with a guided moon meditation, via the @insighttimer app.

Harnessing that Spring energy to set intentions for a new month, a new quarter of the year and a new season.
Things surfacing for me are wanting to cultivate momentum, continuing to embracing metamorphosis (my word of the year) and seeking out seasonal magic as we shift into Spring 🌺

Let the chaos commence…🌪️

I’m so grateful that I’m able to spend the school holidays with my kids, AND then like many other self-employed mamas there’s frustration that my business has to take a back seat. This holiday I’ve chosen to tilt mostly into parenting, with a few small tasks and goals I can work on in the evenings or when I get a quiet moment. I’m choosing to take a bit of a break and looking forward to starting up with a couple of new creative mentees after the Easter holidays.

But I know taking a step back won’t always work, especially not for all the holidays over the next decade 😅 So I know I’m gonna have to develop a better game plan to balance working in my business whilst navigating the time off.

What does the juggle look like for you this month?

Things to do in April… 🌿 Forage for wild gar

🌿 Forage for wild garlic.
🚂 Take a trip on a train with the kids.
🥚 Do an Easter egg hunt.
🍽️ Eat lunch in the garden.
💧 Have a floatation session at @floatbristol.
💜 Walk amongst blue bells.

Some March magic, of which there was much, despite

Some March magic, of which there was much, despite the weather. Highlights (some pictured,some not)…celebrating my birthday, snow day, a walk amongst the redwoods, cosy cafe days, a Saturday evening gig with friends, extra days of play and fun with my eldest home for the strikes, a trip to Grandma’s, a really tasty ramen, doing my bestie’s chart and finding out we’re moon twins (of course we are @georgethemack!), catching big brother reading his book to the little one, lovely forrest school days, spotting lots of frogs in the pond, playing all of the The Last of Us with @willswifty, reading a good book, a cinema trip, plus a lovely weekend in Devon 🤍

I always write a things to do for the month list, and sometimes I feel bad I haven’t ticked many of my ideas off, so it’s nice to reflect on all the things I have been up to. What was your highlight of March?

A floral feast for the eyes, especially for anyone else who is desperately seeking spring! 🌺🌼🌷🌸💐

I try to practice acceptance and appreciate seasonal living whatever the weather but it can certainly feel hard at this time of year, after such a long cold, wet winter! Finding solace in the fact that I was surrounded by absolutely Spring abundance at the weekend. Nature is waking up, even if we still feel like hibernating!

Even though you are time-poor, please don’t convince yourself that you can’t incorporate habits and practices that will serve you into your working week. This could be self-care practices, or different ways of working.
